Biography Of Vicki Back

Victoria Back is creator of KNOWWHERE, the brilliant educational card game aimed at teaching children (and adults) the countries and capitals of the world.

Victoria came up with the idea for KNOWWHERE three years ago when her daughter, a TV presenter for Talk Sport, asked her the capital of Norway. Victoria was so surprised that a good education could have left her child so unaware of basic geographical knowledge, she decided to do something about it. Spurred on by the encouragement (and funding) from family and close friends, KNOWWHERE was born. Since then, much to Victoria’s surprise and delight, she has sold over 3500 games via mail order and at charity fairs.

It’s captured the attention of consumers and media alike, and popularity has been boosted by recent publicity in The Sunday Telegraph (‘Best Tested Travel Game’ Oct 2005) and The Independent on Sunday (‘Get This - Family Game’ Oct 2005) and it was also short listed for the Hamley’s Prize for Educational Toy of the Year 2005 and now the world-famous toy store wants to stock it.

KNOWWHERE ‘Americas & Australasia’ is about to be launched, ready to while away this year’s Christmas holiday.

Victoria is a warm, enthusiastic and articulate woman – a dedicated mother and committed businesswoman. Recently divorced after 26 years of marriage, she lives deep in the Kentish Weald, in a picture-postcard Victorian farm cottage with a dog, some hens and occasionally her daughters.
